Our Why

The greatest garden retail category growth will come when garden retail is consumer-faced to all 336 million Americans and be readily available 52-weeks-a-year. I believe the future will be brighter for the category by making consumer horticulture more relevant and accessible to all through changes in the retail format, consumer messaging and product development to reverse the declining trend in sales and annual shopping visits. This was our belief pre-2020 and now in a post-pandemic world, the future includes 18 million new self-described plant parents. The pandemic reversed the declining trends, and accelerated visits and consumption. It is up to truly entrepreneurial spirits to opt not to exist in a pre-2020 world but to choose to live a dynamic future in a post-2020 world.
